The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
When competitive behaviors like undermining and undercutting others show up, it can ‘rock the boat’ of our equilibrium. First, acknowledge emotions like anger and hurt feelings. They are normal. Second, understand that a competitive style has benefit – it can energize ambition and drive creativity. Third, discover the shared goal and hold boundaries FOR the greater good rather than against them. When we ultimately realize we are all indeed part of a ‘whole,’ going against others becomes counterproductive.
